F1 Visa Interview experience of Suramya Chukka at Mumbai Consulate on 24-11-2014

Reached Consulate at 8.45 am.At 9.20 am,the security people over there asked the candidates for 10 am slot to take a line,and we did so.

At 10.05 am I was  inside the interview room,waiting in a queue for my turn.A 10.15 am I was asked to move to Counter:31.

VO was an young lady around 25-30.Seemed very nice and friendly but rejected an F1 visa guy before me.

I was all smiling when I saw her and she responded in the same manner :p

Me:Good Morning Ma'm

VO:Good Morning Ma'm,Can i take a look at your docs?

Me:Sure Ma'm.(Passed my passport,i20 and Sevis fee Receipt)

VO:Oh..So why did u choose UNC Charlotte?

Me:I did my undergraduation in Computer Science and Networking was always my area of Interest.That made me took up a project in networking,more specifically put,Wireless networks and its interactions with applications.Then,My Head of the Department suggested me this University as there is an active research going on in uncc on the same.Moreover,UNCC is a Research intense university,Providing excellent opportunities.I have even gone through the cirriculum and it was fabricated very consistently.It suited my requirements with emphasis on my areas of interest.

(I was still going on blah blah...and she was typing all this time.She looked up and said OK.)

VO:(Typing and said something)

Me:Pardon

VO:How are u gonna pay ur fee?

Me:My parents are sponsoring me,Ma'm)

VO:So what do ur parents do?(Typing)

Me:They are working as teachers for the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

VO continued her typing for 2 more minutes and I was just staring at her,waiting for her to talk.

VO:Ok,I am giving ur docs back(and handed my i20 and sevis..I was wondering if she would give my passport too).Ur visa is approved and u can collect ur passport.....( I didnt listen to anything after that)

Me:Thank You Ma'm.Thank you so much.

I would suggest not to make any changes in the university when u r appearing for the second time(If your profile is absolutely good and if the VO didnt suggest anything).
