Here is my interview. VO was a middle aged American guy.
Me:Good Morning Sir (with a smile)
VO: Good Morning .How are you ?
Me: I am fine.How are you Sir?
VO: I am good .
** Had a struggle to pass the documents through the Window glass tongue emoticon
VO: Are you nervous?
Me: A little bit ,I believe
VO: Take a deep breath like how I am doing (He showed me how to take deep breath tongue emoticon ) .Dont worry ,we will just have a friendly conversation only
Me: Sure Sir, I am fine now
VO: So you are going to Oregon State University ?
Me: Thats ryt ,Sir
VO: What is your latest academic qualification ?
Me: Btech in Mechanical
VO: What is you major in MS ?
Me: Mechanical Engg.
VO: What are the other colleges you applied ?
Me: Told some of colleges name which I applied and he interrupted
VO: Did you get admit from any other colleges ?
Me: Yes Sir ,told the names of those colleges
VO: Why you choose this college ?
Me: This college has good research activities under my department
VO: How come you know this college has the best research activities among the others which yoy get ?
Me: I researched every university I got and found out that this university has the largest academic design research lab in US and the faculties are currenly working on some grt researches on design which makes me interested to choose this university as design is my intented specialization .Also , i have had conversation with my graduate advisor and he is very friendly and helpful ,thus I am confortable to study in this university.
VO: How are you paying?
Me: My parents and uncle will sponsor .Also I am taking educational loan of ***
VO: what is the rate of interest of your edu loan?
Me: I am not sure about this .
VO: But you should know this
Me: Yes Sir ,sorry for that .The sanction of the loan is still in processing , but since my parents and uncle already has liquid asset of *** , it wont be a problem to my study even without the loan .
VO: Whats your parents do ?
Me: Both are Central Govt Employee
** Someone called him and he went away for 1 min ,then he came back and started typing for 30-40 secs and I didnt avoid eye contact for a single moment.
VO: So , in which city are you heading to ?
Me: Corvallis
VO: Oh ,thats a nice place and you will like it .
Me: Sure Sir with a big smile as this was a genuine hint that he is going to approve my VISA
VO: Your VISA is approved and you can collect in next 1-2 days .Take your I20 .
He told about a place which is known for fishing and recommended me to go once.
Me: Sure Sir ,I will go there smile emoticon Took my I20 and left with happiness
Tips: Dont lose your smile even if you are nervous inside .Always speak confidently with audible voice and always keep eye contact
