Vo looked like a Hollywood hero. Even before having a look at him, I was listening to his comments from the side. Though he was grilling all the applicants, he was approving them. I and my friend were in the same line. After my friend's visa was approved, I was called....

VO: Next please

Me: Good morning sir!

VO: pass me your i20 (passport was already taken when i was in line), how many universities have you applied to?

Me: 8

VO: So you are going to the worst of the lot huh?

Me: (what the hell!) No sir! I am going to the best one

VO: Woah! Your i20 amount is 65000. How much time are you going to study?

Me: 4 semesters sir, two years.

VO: So how much is the total amount?

Me: It's 98000$ sir.

VO: You said it's two years, then how come its only 98000$?

Me: That's because there is no tuition fee for the last semester sir.

VO: But still it's $100,000. How are you gonna pay?

Me: My family recently sold a land worth 40 lakh rupees and my father has savings of around 20 lakh rupees. With this they are funding my education.

VO: What is your gre score?

Me: I gave gmat sir

VO: What is your gmat score?

Me: 620 sir

VO: How did you get the land?

Me: (a little bit stammered here but observed that Vo was looking at me curiously) we got it from our ancestors sir

Vo: What does your father do?

Me: he is a road contractor sir

VO: How many siblings do you have and what are they doing?

Me: One younger sister and she is working at the TCS.

VO: Ok sir your visa is approved, but you make sure that you pay this amount amount coz its huge.

Me: Sure sir, sure! Thank you, thank you very much!!!!!

VO: Next please
